The primary-level lesson plans associated with the A History of Ireland in 100 objects, a selection project have been designed by a teacher to be both stimulating to students and integral to the relevant school curriculum.

The material has been double-blind reviewed by academics and teachers, and piloted in five schools.

The lesson plans support cross-curricular learning, helping schools to meet their requirement under the Education Act (1998) to promote the development of the arts and raise awareness of cultural heritage; issues which are also specifically referenced in the Arts in Education charter jointly launched by the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan, TD, and the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn, TD, in January 2013.

Making this material available via the ‘Education Resources’ pages of the website also assists with the delivery of the National Digital Strategy (2013), Phase 1, Strand 3, Technology in Education – primary level.
